October

It’s October.

Leaves are falling. Temperatures are dropping. Wind is whipping. Drinking a chai latte has become more socially acceptable again. (Yeah, I drink ’em hot year round.) Change is everywhere- I can feel it in my chest as I breathe and in my heart as the Spirit speaks. Each leaf that makes its descent splotched in red or yellow is like a faint echo of what’s to come… of what’s to change in my world. And while I don’t have the full picture of what that thing is yet, I’m starting to see it take flight- just like those leaves in transition- and soon I’ll see the colors lay softly at my feet.

It’s October.

Soon, though, even that will change.
